What to Expect

In this two-hour experience, we break down the building blocks of tasting wine and give you a vocabulary to identify what you like (and don’t like) in a wine. Your host curates wines just for you and makes the whole thing feel like a discovery rather than a lecture.

Settle in, as we open the evening with a glass in hand and permission to slow down and pay attention.

01 Notice

Isolate the building blocks of tasting -- sweetness, acidity, tannin, body -- one at a time, and not in wine. Once you’ve experienced each one alone, you can find it in the glass.

02 Name

Put it all together with a curated flight, tasted with new attention and the Flavor Compass as a guide, with the stories of the wines and the people who made them woven throughout.

Hello! I’m Vanessa.

I’ve spent years studying wine and nearly as long learning to make it feel like an invitation rather than an exam. I hold a WSET certification and have worked behind the scenes at a vineyard in France’s Rhône Valley, but the credentials aren’t really the point. What I care about is making the experience warm, personal, and unforgettable.
